This course presents techniques and theory for massage therapists who intend to utilize Thai massage in their practice. Students will learn Thai massage SEN theory and many techniques using a
massage mat on the floor. Therapists will learn how to work with prenatal clients in seated, side-lying and semi-reclined positions.
The course consists of three lessons in which students add to their knowledge of self-care, participate in discussions about special considerations for prenatal clients and Thai massage techniques, pair up with classmates for practical application, and provide and receive feedback for each other each day.
Kimberly Kayuha, LMTis a NY State Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Yoga Teacher and Reiki Master. She is a graduate of the Swedish Institute and has received additional trainings and certifications in Thai Massage with Jonas Westring, Sarah Seeley, and Pailin Winotaka. She has been doing an apprenticeship with Reinhold (CATA’s Thai Massage Program Director) since 2014, studied Pre/Perinatal Massage Therapy with Carole Osbourne, Medical Massage with Janine Strenta as well as earned Prenatal, Momma Baby and Restorative Yoga certifications. Kimberly is passionate about her work, combing both Eastern and Western techniques with a heavy influence from yoga, meditation and pranayama. Kimberly works in a Brooklyn Chiropractic Office as well as maintains a thriving private practice in Manhattan and Brooklyn.Registration / Cancellation Policies
