While work opportunities with professional teams or players may not be common, there are
plenty of circumstances where a client is an avid amateur athlete and is looking for specific work dedicated to his or her chosen sport.

In this 2-day, 10-hour workshop, participants will cover maintenance techniques and discuss precautions for pre- and post- activity sessions. We will also discuss the wear-and-tear of repetitive action in sports, common injuries, warm up and
cool down suggestions, muscular imbalances, over-training, and the implications of the competitive mind-set for injury recovery and how best to facilitate the recovery process.

Targeted sports include tennis (and related racquet sports), running, golf, and cycling. The hands-on portion will include: Post Isometric Relaxation Response; Hyperstimulation Analgesic Compression; Fascial Mobilizations; Deep Tissue engagement; Trigger Point release; Cautions for PNF applications; and Safe Stretching. This particular class will target work to the
back, shoulder girdle, forearms, posterior hip, hamstrings, ITB, quadriceps and adductor group.

Using tools to save stress on the therapists’ hands and fingers will also be demonstrated.
