This hands-on workshop is designed to improve confidence & effectiveness while stretching massage & personal training clients while using PNF Techniques. LMTs & Certified Personal Trainers will review important Health History Questions, Observation of their client, & Movement assessment to more fully understand which stretches will provide the most benefit for their client, as well as improve the results of the treatment or strength training program they are already providing. Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation theory and practice are discussed, to help the LMT or CPT understand the most safe and effective ways to stretch their client, prevent muscle spasm, and improve flexibility, without causing injury. Tense & Relax, Contract/Relax/Antagonist Contract, and Reciprocal Inhibition are all PNF techniques demonstrated, reviewed, & practiced by each participant. Lower Extremity, Upper Extremity, and Neck stretch protocols are shown, with adequate practice time provided to master the techniques. This course provides the LMT or CPT with a competitive edge in flexibility training, which keeps clients pain-free, and at a decreased risk for injury.

Required Materials: 2 sheets (1 fitted, 1 top sheet), 1 towel, 1 pillowcase, pen and paper, sports bra and shorts. Also bring Atlas of Human Anatomy by Netter or an equivalent anatomy textbook or application. $30 fee payable to instructor for workshop DVD (optional).
