Lecture
$267
Prerequisite: Introduction to Oncology Massage

This course is an introduction to pharmacology in the conventional treatment of cancer, supplemented with an overview of the impact of complementary therapies including massage and bodywork, exercise and meditation. Its purpose is to introduce general concepts of pharmacology in order to build a vocabulary and knowledge base for massage therapists planning to work collaboratively with oncology professionals and clinicians.

Drug classifications, routes of administration and side effects will be taught; and the overall impact of cancer treatment will be explored so massage therapists may write and perform adaptive treatment plans based on the needs of individual clients.

We will also explore the impact of hands-on, postoperative interventions to reduce adhesion formation and improve physical and psychological outcomes.
