with Peter Blum and Naaz Hosseini
Please join us for a very special evening of transcendental sound featuring SoundShifter/Pulse Field duo with violinist and master vocalist Naaz Hosseini, and sound magician Peter Blum, on Himalayan singing bowls, gongs, bells, cymbals, flutes, & drums.
Music has been used as transformational ritual in practically every culture to attune to nature and celestial events. In this concert of improvised sound and music, it is the intention of the musicians and listeners to create a sacred space. Participants are invited to sit comfortably or lie on mats or blankets in the center of the room, surrounded on all sides by sacred sounds.
Early Bird Price (Register 1 Week Before Event): $35
Regular Price: $40
Special Price for 2 Tickets: $70
Born to opera singers, Naaz Hosseini has been infused with music from the womb. She has explored voice as breath, performance, and healing medium. She recorded her CD, SoundPath, as a therapeutic journey, freeing her own voice and opening the doorway for her voice healing work with others. Naaz has performed worldwide as vocalist, violinist and dancer with Meredith Monk Vocal Ensemble including Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. She has sung in film scores of John McDowell and Richard Martinez and composed for and performed with Pilobolus, National Theatre of the Deaf, and Bridgman Packer Dance. Her voice attunement workshops and sound healing events have been presented at numerous venues, including The New York Open Center, Omega Institute, Kripalu, and the United Nations. Naaz has combined her extensive experience and training as a psychotherapist, performer and educator to create PowerfulPresence® coaching to help women (and other humans) step into their vocal power. She maintains a private psychotherapy practice in Nyack, New York.
Peter Blum has been a musician and lover of sound all his life. He has studied music and sound healing with Dr. Karl Berger, Ustad Jamaluddin Bhartiya (N. Indian classical music), Beautiful Painted Arrow (Native American shamanic sound practices), Pauline Oliveros, Fabian Mamman, John Beaulieu (tuning forks), and Don Conreaux (gong). One of the first to use the term “sound bath”, he has given workshops and soundhealing concerts since the mid 90’s at Omega Institute, Abode of the Message, The Cragsmoor Stone Church, The Intʼl Hypnosis Federation, The Graduate Institute, and, most recently, the United Nations. He is an ordained Interfaith Minister and multiple award winning hypnotherapist, and is deeply interested in the effects of music and sound on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.Registration / Cancellation Policies
