In this class, massage therapists will learn about the history of osteopathy and explore the osteopathic parallels to traditional North American bodywork. Students will gain information about how to assess, read and listen to the body through observing its biomechanics and understanding the responses of the central and autonomic nervous systems. They will learn how to look at the body as an integral dynamic unit of function, how to identify primary and secondary complaints, and techniques to help move the body into a greater state of equilibrium.
